Ruth Ann H. Stoneham, age 71, died peacefully at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital following a battle with cancer and MDS. She was born on May 1, 1945 in Evanston, IL to Emma (Haefke) and Robert Gartner.
Ruth Ann served her community as school bus driver for St. Matthews Lutheran School, director of the Des Plaines Park District Tumbleers, a teacher’s aide for South School, a Special Education teacher for Niles Township District for Special Education. She loved traveling and camping with her family especially trips to Disney.
Ruth Ann is survived by her husband of 50 years Allen, daughter Jeannette (Kevin) Jud, son Jason (Brenda) Stoneham, daughter Joanna Stoneham and sons Jeremy and Jed (girlfriend Katie Honeman) Stoneham, her brother Daniel (Judy) Gartner, grandchildren Caleb, Heather, Emily, Nicholas, Kylie, Rebecca, Bryce, Ashlyn and Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 28 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 9081 N Maryland St, Niles, IL 60714, with the funeral service following at 11 AM. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Memorial Fund.
