Friedrichs Funeral Home was pleased to be a sponsor of the Village of Mount Prospect’s 100 Celebration Dinner Dance.
On Saturday, February 4, 2017, nearly 650 residents, business leaders, dignitaries and guests attended the Centennial Celebration Dinner Dance at The Cotillion Banquets in Palatine. The event was planned by Mount Prospect’s Special Events Commission.
Mount Prospect Mayor Arlene A. Juracek delivered key speech highlighting the milestones of Mount Prospect at the Village’s Centennial Celebration honoring 100 years of incorporation. Mayor Juracek proudly shared proclamations honoring the anniversary from Governor Bruce Rauner, State Representatives Elaine Nekritz and David Harris and Cook County Commissioner Peter Silvestri.
In honor of the 100th Anniversary, descendants of Mount Prospect’s founders were introduced to the large crowd. In addition, a short commemorative video on the history of Mount Prospect was shown. The video was produced by Video Communications Specialist Steve Martini; the script was written by Centennial Commission Co-Chair Jean Murphy and voiced-over by Director of Communications Howard Kleinstein. This event would not have been made possible without the countless hours of the volunteers who make up the Special Events Commission. The Special Events Commission organized every detail, including music, venue, decorations and much more. The main entertainment was provided by The Orchestra 33. The cocktail hour entertainment was provided by Mount Prospect native Kaitlyn Bradley.
