Nancy Flood McCaughrean of Mount Prospect, Il for 56 years
Born July 15, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pa. She passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Lutheran Home, Arlington Heights, Il surrounded by her family. Nancy was one of six sisters who were born and raised in a row house in Philadelphia, Pa. She graduated from Simon Gratz High School and began a career as a secretary. Nancy was married for 53 years to her husband George McCaughrean they lived in Eatontown, New Jersey before settling in Mount Prospect, Il in 1962.
Nancy was a devoted mother, wife, and member of the congregation of Trinity United Methodist Church; she served as an active member of the Esther Circle, PADS, and took on a leadership role as treasurer, and any other committee that needed a volunteer. She remembers fondly the life long friendships she formed during her 56 years as a church member.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Steven (Kate) of Woodstock, Il. Alan of Tacoma, WA and beloved daughter, Lisa (Edgar) Aguilar of Mundelein, Il. Proud grandmother of Kara McCaughrean, Joshua Aguilar and Kassandra Aguilar. She is survived by her sisters Rachel Flood Merritz, and Marian Flood Hartman (Robert Hartman). In addition to her husband George, she was predeceased by her sisters Esther Flood Liddle (Howard), Carey Flood Larmour (George) Jean Flood, and brother in law Earl Merritz.
Visitation Wednesday May 16, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway) Mount Prospect, IL 60056.
Funeral Service Thursday May 17, 10:00am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 605 W. Golf Road, Mount Prospect, IL 60056. The Rev. Wendy Hardin Hermann will officiate.
Private interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, Il.
