Gregory “Gig” Michael May, 66, of Palatine, IL, passed peacefully, July 12, 2015, at his home surrounded by loved ones.  Born May 27, 1949, to Edward and Bernice (nee Dorociak) May in Chicago, IL, Greg graduated from Weber High School in 1967 and continued his education at Prosser Vocational High School Tool and Die Institute.  He was employed as a tool and die maker at Creative Die Mold Corp. for over 30 years.

Greg was an avid outdoorsman who had a profound appreciation for nature and enjoyed camping, skiing, snowboarding, sailing, hiking, and biking.  His generous and fun-loving spirit will be greatly missed.   Greg is survived by his son, Christopher (Emily) of Elgin, IL; brothers Conrad (Mary) and Leonard (Cindy), sister Diana (the late Robert) Burns, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Edward, and brother, Raymond (Carlene).

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM., Thursday, July 16, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 Central Road, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.  Funeral Friday, July 17, starting with prayers at 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home then to St. Emily Catholic Church, 1400 E. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect, IL 60056 for Mass at 11:00 AM
