Dorothy M. Smedinghoff nee Gabriel, age 86, formerly of Mt. Prospect, IL passed away peacefully on July 2, 2015. Cherished daughter of the late Martha nee Laskowska and Stanley Gabriel; fond sister of the late Robert Gabriel; Beloved wife of the late John A. Smedinghoff; Loving mother of Thomas (Mary Beth), James (Linda), John (Patrice), Paul (Anne Kavooras), Rita (Frank) Carter, Lois (Dan) Bucaro, Gerard and Carl; Devoted grandmother of Mark (Lindsay Martin), the late Anne, Regina, and Joan, Sam and Scott, Beth and Luke, Tony, Connie, and John Carter, and Sarah Bucaro, Andrea Timler (Joe), and Nicole Bucaro; and Proud great-grandmother of Caroline, Patrick, and Hannah Timler.
Visitation Friday, July 10th from 3 to 9 p.m. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect, IL 60056. Funeral Saturday, 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Emily Church. Mass 11:00 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
